A 65-year-old e-rickshaw driver lost his life in a devastating hit-and-run incident in Bhopal on Saturday. The victim, identified as Mohammad Qamar Khan, a resident of Shahjahanabad, was fatally injured when a speeding commercial vehicle rammed into his three-wheeler from behind.

The tragic event unfolded in the TT Nagar area. According to police reports, Khan was transporting a large consignment of flowers to a shop in the Kolar area. As he was passing near the Tin Shed liquor shop, a loading vehicle approaching from behind at high speed was driven rashly and slammed into the e-rickshaw.

The force of the impact was severe, causing the lightweight e-rickshaw to lose balance and overturn. Mohammad Qamar Khan sustained critical head injuries in the crash. Eyewitnesses at the scene immediately alerted authorities.

Futile Rush to Hospital and Police Investigation

An ambulance rushed the unconscious driver to JP Hospital for emergency treatment. However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, Khan was declared dead en route, before reaching the medical facility.

Witnesses informed the police that the driver of the loading vehicle did not stop to assist the victim or report the accident. Instead, the driver fled the spot immediately after the collision. Based on the complaint, the TT Nagar police have registered a case and launched a full investigation into the incident.
