A violent clash allegedly linked to a sand mining dispute in Chhattisgarh's Koriya district has resulted in three deaths and two serious injuries. The incident occurred near Katgodi village, where police suspect a planned ambush. Attackers intercepted rival vehicles and repeatedly rammed a Fortuner SUV with a tipper truck.

Victims and Injuries

One of the victims, Bharat Singh Geharwar alias Lalla Singh, a BJP leader, was charred inside the burning vehicle. Two other individuals later succumbed to their injuries. The injured are receiving medical treatment.

Investigation Details

Investigators are probing whether the victims were lured to the spot under the pretext of a settlement. Four accused have been arrested, and a search is underway for three more suspects.
