Eight-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Nalanda Village, Sparks Outrage
Residents of Darriya Bigha village in Nalanda district woke up to a horrifying discovery on Tuesday morning. Villagers found the body of an eight-year-old boy lying on the roadside. A rope was tightly tied around his neck, indicating foul play. The incident immediately triggered widespread anger and protests among the local community.
Missing Child Case Turns Tragic
The deceased boy has been identified as Ankit Kumar, son of Niranjan Kumar. According to family members, Ankit went missing on Monday evening. His mother had gone to the market around 4:30 PM when Ankit left home to play with friends. He briefly returned home before leaving again at 5 PM, but never came back. The family grew increasingly worried as night fell without any sign of the child.
They filed a missing complaint at the Chandi police station, hoping for a quick resolution. Instead, the worst fears materialized when morning walkers stumbled upon the tragic scene in Kalyanpur Khazana Khandha area.
Highway Blocked as Villagers Demand Justice
Enraged by the killing, family members and local villagers blocked the Karauta-Rajgir Highway-78. They protested vehemently, demanding immediate arrest of the culprits responsible for the child's death. The highway blockade caused significant disruption as authorities tried to manage the tense situation.
Police quickly responded by sending the body for postmortem examination. A dog squad and Forensic Science Laboratory team reached the crime spot to collect evidence and clues that might lead to the perpetrators.
Police Investigate Multiple Angles
Shailja, DSP-I of Hilsa, rushed to the spot and confirmed that investigations were underway from all possible angles. However, she admitted that the exact motive behind the killing remained unclear at this stage. Preliminary examination suggested the child was strangulated, with several visible marks on his neck according to Chandi SHO Suman Kumar.
The investigation took a dramatic turn when family members pointed fingers at a woman allegedly involved with the victim's father. Ankit's uncle, Manish Kumar, accused a woman of committing the murder. He claimed Niranjan had an old extramarital affair with this woman, who later blackmailed him for money after discovering he was married with a son.
Extramarital Affair Emerges as Key Lead
Police revealed crucial details about the possible connection. Niranjan Kumar worked as a driver in Patna and reportedly came in contact with a woman from Barh sub-division about ten months ago. Their relationship developed into an affair that continued until recently.
According to police sources, Niranjan shared an intimate video with the woman just two days before the incident. The woman allegedly threatened him with dire consequences following this revelation. Authorities are now trying to locate and question this woman, considering her involvement as potentially crucial to solving the case.
The family's allegation specifically points to this woman threatening to kill Niranjan's son as retaliation. Police are treating this lead seriously while continuing to explore other possibilities. The community remains on edge, waiting for answers in this heartbreaking case that has shaken the entire region.
