Thiruvananthapuram: In the ongoing investigation into the murder of a 38-year-old man following an altercation at a bar in Mukkola, police took the accused to the crime scene to collect evidence and reconstruct the events. Brothers S Achu, 24, and S Ananthu, 19, who were arrested in connection with the killing of S Suman of Vellayani, were brought to the bar around 5:30 pm.
Reconstruction of Events
Bar staff identified the accused, who also reenacted the sequence of events, including the argument and the subsequent assault that led to the murder. Police stated that a scooter used by the first accused was seized from the premises. The employee who filmed the incident was traced and questioned, while five individuals seen in the footage, including those involved in the verbal altercation, were examined earlier.
Investigation Progress
Station House Officer Reji Raj said that the bar staff would be questioned along with the accused, and the chargesheet would be filed within 40 days. The accused will be produced before the court on Monday. The incident occurred around midnight on April 15, when an argument involving one of the accused escalated after Suman intervened, leading to the fatal assault.
Police are continuing their probe to gather all evidence and ensure a thorough investigation. The bar staff's cooperation and the forensic evidence collected will play a crucial role in building the case. The authorities have assured that the legal process will be expedited to deliver justice.
