BTech Graduate's Body Recovered from Bhubaneswar Hotel, Family Points to Girlfriend
The body of a BTech graduate was recovered from a hotel in the Pokhariput area of Bhubaneswar on Friday, sparking allegations of foul play from family members. The deceased, identified as Bubuna Pradhan, was in his 20s, and his relatives have accused his girlfriend of involvement in his death.
Police Details and Initial Findings
According to police reports, Pradhan and his girlfriend checked into the hotel on Thursday evening. An officer from the Airport police station stated, "We received information about Pradhan's death in the morning. He was found in a partially hanging position near a window. The room was not locked from inside." Inspector in-charge Rabindranath Meher of the Airport police station emphasized that the case is under active investigation. "We are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause and circumstances of death. All possible angles are being examined," Meher added.
Family Allegations and Background
Pradhan's relatives have raised serious concerns, alleging murder by his girlfriend. R K Pradhan, a relative, explained, "He recently moved to Bengaluru to look for a job. We were not aware that he was in Bhubaneswar. His girlfriend called us on Thursday night, saying he was unwell. When we reached the hotel, he was already dead. Police should arrest her." The family resides in Old Town, Bhubaneswar.
Further allegations from the family suggest that the woman had been planning to marry another man and had quarreled with Pradhan. The relative added, "We also saw two men, believed to be her associates, outside the hotel room. Police must investigate the case thoroughly." These claims have intensified calls for a comprehensive probe into the incident.
