A tragic workplace accident in North Chennai has claimed the life of a painter who fell from the second floor of a residential building. The incident occurred in the Pulianthope area, highlighting the ever-present risks faced by daily wage workers in the construction and maintenance sector.

The victim has been identified as Shameem, a 45-year-old resident of Mohammedian Street in Perambur. He had been engaged in painting the house for the past four days. The unfortunate accident took place on Tuesday afternoon, around 3 PM. According to preliminary information, Shameem lost his balance while working, leading to a fatal plunge from the second floor.
Rushed to Hospital and Subsequent Death
Suffering severe injuries to his head and legs from the fall, Shameem was immediately rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) for emergency medical treatment. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he could not be saved. Shameem succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night.
