CID Team Arrives in Ballari to Investigate Banner Clash Case

A special CID team reached Ballari on Sunday to take control of the ongoing investigation into the recent banner clash incident. The team, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Harsha Priyamvada, included one Deputy Superintendent of Police and two Circle Police Inspectors.

Document Collection and Review Process

The investigators meticulously examined all documents related to the banner clash case. They officially took custody of these records from the local police department. The handover process continued through Monday and was nearly complete by evening.

Police sources indicate the CID team will likely return to Bengaluru on Tuesday. They will transport the collected documents back to their headquarters for detailed analysis.

CCTV Footage Collection Efforts

The investigation team is actively trying to obtain CCTV footage from around Gali Janardhana Reddy's bungalow on Siruguppa Road. So far, they have managed to secure video recordings from only three houses in the vicinity.

Many other houses in the area did not have surveillance cameras installed. The CID officials also received videos captured by media personnel and some individuals who were present at the scene during the incident.

Next Steps in the Investigation

A senior police officer explained the planned course of action. "The CID officials will take the documents to Bengaluru, study them thoroughly, and conduct a high-level meeting," the officer stated.

"After that assessment, they will prepare a list of individuals who need to be questioned. Those persons will then be called to Bengaluru for interrogation."

Local Support and Additional Investigations

Newly appointed SP Sumana Pannekar mentioned that if required, or if the government provides instructions, authorities will establish a CID office in Ballari itself to facilitate the investigation.

Meanwhile, police are examining the gun licenses of private bodyguards employed by MLA Nara Bharat Reddy and his close associate Satish Reddy. A senior officer confirmed that a formal request has been submitted to Jammu and Kashmir authorities, who originally issued those licenses.

Multiple Cases Under Scrutiny

SP Sumana Pannekar clarified that the CID is currently investigating four separate cases. The police department has provided all necessary documents for these investigations.

Two additional cases related to the banner clash involve allegations of caste-based abuse. These particular cases are being handled independently by the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE).

Political Response to the Investigation

Ballari City MLA Nara Bharat Reddy commented on the developing situation. "Kalaya tasmai namah," he stated, which translates to "time will reveal everything."

"The government assigned this case to the CID, and the truth will eventually come to light," the MLA added with confidence.
