The accident occurred at Chhattarpur village on the Garhwa-Nagar Untari NH-39. According to family members, Dilip Kumar, a resident of Kalyanpur village under the Garhwa police station limits, had gone to Chhattarpur village for some work on Sunday. He was cycling back home when the devastating collision took place.

A speeding pick-up van rammed into his bicycle with immense force. The impact was so severe that the young man died on the spot, leaving his family and community in profound shock. The driver of the van did not stop to help or report the incident, fleeing the scene instead.

Upon receiving information about the tragic event, local police personnel swiftly arrived at the accident site. Garhwa police station officer-in-charge Sunil Kumar Tiwari confirmed the details and stated that an investigation is actively underway.

"A probe is on to trace the pick-up van involved in the hit-and-run case," Tiwari said. The police are examining all available evidence and leads to identify and apprehend the driver responsible for this reckless act that resulted in a loss of life.
