Chennai: The Anna Nagar police have registered a case against Siddharth, son of North Chennai DMK MP Kalanidhi Veeraswamy, along with three others, including a DMK councillor, for alleged property fraud, criminal intimidation, and caste-based abuse.

Accused Named in FIR

The FIR names Siddharth, who serves as managing director of a private company; Rani Ravichandran, councillor of Ward 102 in Anna Nagar; Asaithambi, an assistant to the MP; and Adhinarayanan of Virudhunagar district.

Complaint Details

The case was initiated based on a complaint from Anbarasu, 67, a resident of Karur district. The accused have been booked under Sections 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s), and 3(2)(va) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, along with Sections 420 (cheating) and 506(1) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the complaint, the accused obtained a Power of Attorney deed from Anbarasu for a property transaction but failed to pay the agreed consideration amount. The complainant further alleged that he was subjected to caste-based verbal abuse and criminal intimidation during the dispute.

Property in Question

Police sources revealed that the complaint pertains to a property comprising 14 grounds of land and a building on Anna Salai. The complainant claimed that the property was mortgaged with a bank and that he was deceived in the transaction.
