In a significant development, an FIR has been registered in connection with the attack on the residence of a former member of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (HSGPC), following the intervention of the Punjab and Haryana high court.
Complaint Details
The complainant, former HSGPC member Sardar Sukhsagar Singh, alleged a targeted attack on his house in Dabda Chowk. According to police, an FIR dated May 4, 2026, has been registered at Urban Estate police station, naming Chirag, Sagar, and Devender, along with four unidentified persons.
Incident Timeline
The case pertains to an incident that occurred on the night of October 17, 2025, when 10 to 15 assailants allegedly attacked the residence around 1:30 am. Sukhsagar Singh alleged that the accused arrived armed, hurled abuses, issued death threats to the family, and even threw a firecracker at the house. He claimed that despite submitting a complaint to the Superintendent of Police earlier, no FIR was initially registered and the matter was treated as routine.
He further stated that on January 21, 2026, another incident occurred when a group of youths arrived near his house late at night in a vehicle, played loud music, created a disturbance, and issued threats before leaving. A complaint regarding this incident was also filed, but no action was taken at the time.
Court Intervention
Following police inaction, Sukhsagar Singh approached the Punjab and Haryana high court. Acting on the court's directions, an investigating officer was appointed, whose report led to the registration of the FIR. The complainant has now demanded that another accused, Vikram, also be named in the FIR, and that all accused involved in the attack be arrested at the earliest.
