Forged Documents Lead to FIR in Child Marriage Rescue in Indore
Forged Docs: FIR in Indore Child Marriage Rescue

Indore: A day after two siblings — a 13-year-old girl and her 19-year-old brother — were rescued from being illegally married in Rangwasa village, the district administration has announced that an FIR will be registered. The decision came after the education department verified that the marksheets provided by the family to prove the minors were adults were found to be forged.

Forgery Confirmed by Education Department

Zila Panchayat CEO Siddhartha Jain stated, 'Verification by the education department confirmed the fraud. An FIR will be lodged for forgery of official documents.' The administration also scrutinized the wedding service providers involved in the planned ceremony.

Printer Apologizes for Failure to Verify Ages

WCD district programme officer Rajnish Sinha reported that the printer who printed the wedding invitation cards has apologized for failing to verify the ages of the bride and groom. Since the marriage was stopped, no case is currently being pursued against the printer or other service providers.
