Hazaribag: In a daring theft, unidentified criminals made off with gold valued at approximately Rs 20 lakh from outside a jewellery shop under the Chouparan police station area late Wednesday night, police confirmed on Thursday.

Incident Details

Barhi Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ajit Kumar Vimal stated that a formal complaint has been filed by the shop owner, Alakhdeo Narayan Prasad, and an investigation is underway. According to Prasad's statement, he had parked his two-wheeler in front of his establishment and entered the shop for some work. Upon returning, he discovered that the vehicle's storage compartment (dicky) had been forcibly opened, and the entire gold stock kept inside was missing.
