Gurgaon Murder Probe Reveals YouTube-Planned Contract Killing by Cousin
Gurgaon Murder: Cousin Used YouTube to Plan Contract Killing

Police in Gurgaon have made startling revelations in a recent murder investigation. The case involves a contract killing where the victim's own maternal cousin orchestrated the crime.

The Chilling Details Emerge

Investigators discovered that Gurudatt Sharma, the 56-year-old cousin of victim Sanjay Sharma, paid a private bus driver named Anil Rs 10 lakh to carry out the murder. The two accused men reportedly used YouTube videos to plan both the execution and their escape strategy.

A Week-Long Investigation

The Palam Vihar crime branch team, under Inspector Jaibir's leadership, arrested both suspects this week. Their technical surveillance and movement pattern analysis led to the arrests. Police are now searching for other associates involved in the conspiracy.

Sanjay Sharma, a 50-year-old canteen owner from Sector 34, was shot dead on January 6. The incident occurred near Rama Park in Sector 37D while he was driving to work around 7:10 AM. Bystanders found him lying in a pool of blood outside his car. Medical professionals at Civil Hospital in Sector 10 declared him dead upon arrival.

Longstanding Family Rivalry

Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar explained the background. "Gurudatt got the recce of the victim done through Anil and other associates before committing the crime," he stated. The two cousins had previously operated a construction and crusher gravel business together. That partnership ended over a decade ago due to disputes.

The rivalry intensified over the years. Gurudatt allegedly held personal grudges against Sanjay, blaming him for various family issues. These included his son's recent suicide, which deepened his resentment.

The Day of the Murder

On that fateful January morning, the accused and their associates followed Sanjay's car from his residence. They rammed his vehicle near Rama Park, forcing him to stop. When Sanjay stepped out, they attempted to push him into their own vehicle.

When Sanjay resisted, Gurudatt allegedly fired at him from close range using a country-made weapon. The shooting killed Sanjay instantly on the spot. Investigators noted there were no bloodstains inside Sanjay's car, confirming the shooting occurred outside the vehicle.

Modern Investigation Techniques

Police tracked the accused through technical surveillance and movement pattern analysis. Gurudatt Sharma was first arrested in Dehradun on Saturday. Anil, the 48-year-old bus driver from Muzaffarnagar, was apprehended on Monday. The two men had known each other for nearly a decade.

During interrogation, both suspects admitted planning the murder for several weeks. They confessed to using online videos to "chalk out the execution and their escape plan." Gurudatt operated a café in Dehradun at the time of his arrest.

Ongoing Investigation

Investigators are currently analyzing CCTV footage from the area to identify other suspects. A murder case under Section 103(1) of BNS was registered at Sector 10 police station. The victim's son, Nikhil, filed the initial complaint that launched the investigation.

This case highlights how modern technology is being misused for criminal purposes. It also demonstrates police effectiveness in using technical surveillance to solve complex crimes. The investigation continues as authorities search for remaining associates involved in this tragic family dispute turned deadly.
