Gurgaon School Fee Dispute Turns Violent: Parent, Relatives Assault Staff
Gurgaon: Parent, kin assault school staff over fee dispute

A heated argument over unpaid school fees descended into shocking violence at a prominent Gurgaon institution on Thursday. A parent, accompanied by two relatives, allegedly launched a brutal assault on the staff of Bal Bharti Senior Secondary School, even targeting the school chairman.

The Fee Dispute That Sparked the Confrontation

According to Gurgaon police, the root of the conflict was long-pending fees totalling approximately Rs 2 to 3 lakh. The fees were for the education of two children belonging to a local resident, Manoj Dalar. The incident unfolded when Manoj visited the school to settle the outstanding amount. However, a disagreement over the charged sum quickly flared up between him and the school administration, which included the chairman, Virender Singh.

A Planned Attack Captured on Camera

The situation took a dangerous turn after the initial argument. In his formal complaint, Chairman Virender Singh stated that Manoj allegedly resorted to abuse and threats when asked to leave the premises. Manoj then departed, only to return later with a plan. After the school closed at around 2:30 PM, Manoj, along with his brother Satish and another relative identified as Manish, forcibly entered the school grounds.

What followed was a premeditated attack. The group, armed with sticks and a rod, began thrashing the school staff present on the premises. The assault was not limited to physical violence; the accused also reportedly abused and pushed female staff members. The entire incident was recorded by the school's CCTV cameras, providing crucial evidence to the police.

Threats and Aftermath of the Assault

The violence was compounded by severe threats. The assailants allegedly threatened to set a school bus on fire and issued death threats to the staff. Fortunately, no one sustained serious injuries in the attack, as confirmed by the police. A school official revealed a surprising detail: about ten members of the accused's family or relatives are currently enrolled in the same school, and there was no prior history of enmity between the parties.

This alarming event highlights how a financial dispute can spiral into criminal violence, disrupting the sanctity of an educational environment. The Gurgaon police are investigating the case based on the complaint filed by Chairman Virender Singh, and further legal action is expected.
