Hisar Bride Flees With Gold & Jewellery Months After Marriage, Family Alleges Fraud
In a shocking incident from Hisar, a woman allegedly fled her in-laws' house just three months after her marriage, taking gold and jewellery with her. The groom's family has now filed a police complaint, accusing a middleman of orchestrating the match and taking Rs 50,000 under the pretext of arranging the wedding.
Family Seeks Police Action After Alleged Duping
The complainant, Kanta, a resident of the Quarter 12 area in Hisar, reported the matter to the superintendent of police (SP). She is seeking action and recovery of the money lost in what she describes as a fraudulent marriage arrangement. Kanta explained that her son, Ajay, has two children from his first marriage and required support in managing the household, which prompted the family to arrange a second marriage for him.
Kanta alleged that Suman, a resident of Shiv Nagar, offered to arrange the alliance. According to her complaint, Suman took Rs 50,000 along with a pair of silver anklets as payment for facilitating the marriage. Suman later introduced the family to Rajnandini, a resident of Bettiah in Bihar. Kanta claimed that Suman and another woman, Neelam accompanied them during the entire process, and the marriage was solemnised at a local court in Hisar.
Bride's Sudden Disappearance and Alleged Threats
After the wedding, Rajnandini came to Hisar to live with Ajay's family. However, on December 24, 2025, when Kanta and her son were out for work, Rajnandini allegedly fled the house with jewellery and cash. The family was left stunned by her sudden disappearance, which occurred merely months after the marriage.
In a further twist, Kanta alleged that a few days later, she spotted Rajnandini on the court premises in Hisar, along with Suman and Neelam. When she confronted them about the incident, she claimed that the two women threatened her with dire consequences, adding to the family's distress.
History of Alleged Fraud and Police Investigation
In her detailed complaint to the police, Kanta also alleged that Rajnandini has a history of such fraudulent activities. She claimed that Rajnandini previously married a man from Kharar village and, along with others, has duped several families through similar marriage schemes. This pattern of behaviour has raised serious concerns about organised fraud in marriage arrangements.
Police officials in Hisar have confirmed that the matter is being examined. They stated that appropriate action will be taken after a thorough investigation into the allegations. The case highlights the vulnerabilities families can face when seeking marriage alliances through intermediaries, especially in situations involving second marriages or financial transactions.
The incident serves as a cautionary tale for families arranging marriages, urging them to verify backgrounds and exercise due diligence to prevent such fraudulent schemes.
