In a shocking development from Tamil Nadu, the Hosur police have made a significant breakthrough in a brutal murder case that has shaken the local community. Authorities have arrested a 28-year-old man named Arulraj for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and killing of a young man from the same area.
The Disappearance and Discovery
The case began when 22-year-old S Gokulraj from Hosur went missing under mysterious circumstances several days ago. According to police investigations, the young man was forcibly taken to Veppanapalli village, located near the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border, by unidentified assailants.
The investigation took a grim turn when police discovered that Gokulraj had been brutally murdered and his body callously dumped in a lake. The Hosur town police immediately registered a formal case and launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
The Motive Behind the Murder
During preliminary inquiries, investigators uncovered a complex web of suspicion and retaliation that led to the tragic killing. The prime suspect in the case has been identified as Murugesan, a friend of the victim who hails from a village near Hosur.
Police revealed that Murugesan had previously been involved in a murder case in Chennai and had secured conditional bail. He was employed at a private company in Hosur at the time of the incident. The background of the case became clearer when investigators learned about an attempted murder targeting Murugesan four months earlier.
"Unidentified individuals traveling on motorcycles had chased a car carrying Murugesan and attacked the vehicle," a police official stated. "They were apparently planning to eliminate him at that time." The Krishnagiri district police had earlier arrested a henchman in connection with this attempted murder case.
The Tragic Misunderstanding
According to police findings, Murugesan developed a suspicion that his friend Gokulraj had provided information about his movements and activities to the hired assailants who had attempted to kill him. This belief, whether founded or not, proved fatal for the young Gokulraj.
"Murugesan and his accomplices decided to kidnap and finish off Gokulraj based on this suspicion," the investigation revealed. Acting on this decision, the gang kidnapped Gokulraj a few days ago, murdered him in cold blood, and disposed of his body in a waterbody.
Police confirmed that Arulraj, described as a close aide of prime suspect Murugesan, was actively involved in the murder of Gokulraj. The arrested accused has been remanded to judicial custody while the hunt for the other suspects, including Murugesan, continues.
