Indore Police Crackdown: 209 Nabbed, 153 Drunk Drivers Caught in Night Drive
Indore Police Drive: 209 Faced Action, 153 for Drunk Driving

In a decisive move to clamp down on crime and enhance road safety, the Indore Police conducted an intensive city-wide operation spanning Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday. The drive resulted in legal action against 209 individuals involved in a range of antisocial and illegal activities.

Massive Crackdown on Wanted Criminals and Absconders

Led by senior officers and station in-charges across all four zones of the city, the operation involved ground patrols and surprise checks at multiple locations. A key focus was monitoring listed miscreants, drug peddlers, and those previously expelled from the district. A significant achievement of the night was the execution of 56 pending non-bailable warrants (NBWs). This included the arrest of 12 long-time absconders with permanent warrants and 44 individuals against whom arrest warrants were issued.

Drunk Driving Blitz to Curb Reckless Behavior

Preventing accidents caused by negligent driving was a major component of the initiative. Police teams identified and took strict action against 153 persons found driving under the influence of alcohol. The breakdown included 82 two-wheeler riders and 71 four-wheeler drivers. All were booked under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Officials emphasized that these measures are intended to serve as a strong deterrent against dangerous driving habits that put public lives at risk.

High-Tech Surveillance with Drones

To bolster monitoring in sensitive zones, the police department deployed drones for aerial patrolling. This high-tech surveillance was specifically concentrated on identified hotspots and shadow areas—localities traditionally known for criminal presence or recurring disturbances. The use of technology provided an added layer of vigilance during the extensive drive.

The operation was launched on the instructions of Police Commissioner Santosh Singh. Additional Commissioner Amit Singh stated that all suspects and criminals intercepted during the checks were issued strict warnings against future involvement in unlawful activities as legal proceedings against them have begun. The drive underscores the police's commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of Indore's citizens.
