Modus Operandi

The gang allegedly targeted temples in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, stealing valuable idols and ornaments. Shankar would scout temples, posing as a devotee, and then orchestrate thefts with his accomplices. The stolen items were sold to antique dealers.

Investigation Details

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) said the arrest was made after analyzing CCTV footage and technical surveillance. Shankar has a criminal record and was previously involved in similar cases. Police are now probing his network and possible links to other thefts.
