Husband Arrested for Gruesome Murder in Jaisalmer
Police in Jaisalmer have made an arrest in a shocking case of domestic violence that culminated in murder. A man was taken into custody for allegedly strangling his wife to death on the night of November 19. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sangadh police station area in the Jaisalmer district.
Brother's Complaint Reveals Harrowing Motive
The case came to light on November 20, when the slain woman's brother filed a formal complaint. In his statement to the police, he accused his sister's husband, Khimaram Bhil, of the brutal crime. The complaint revealed a deeply disturbing motive behind the murder. The brother stated that Khimaram had long been harassing his wife, Guddi Devi, because she had given birth to five daughters and only one son. The constant harassment over the gender of their children allegedly escalated to the point of fatal violence.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest and Remand
Taking immediate action on the complaint, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare ordered the formation of a special police team to investigate the case. The team acted promptly, conducting a swift and thorough investigation. Based on their findings, the police interrogated Khimaram Bhil and subsequently placed him under arrest. Following his arrest, the accused was presented before a court, which granted police remand, allowing for further questioning and investigation into this tragic crime against women.
