Police in Jamshedpur have launched an intensive search operation for Kairav Gandhi, the 22-year-old son of prominent industrialist Devan Chandra Gandhi. The young man's mysterious disappearance has left local authorities scrambling for answers.

Car Found Abandoned Near National Highway

Kairav Gandhi has been missing since Tuesday afternoon. Police discovered his car abandoned in a bushy area near National Highway 33 at Kanderbera. This location falls under the jurisdiction of Chandil police station in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

The recovery of the vehicle late Tuesday night triggered immediate police action. Multiple specialized teams have now joined the hunt for the missing youth.

Disappearance Timeline and Family Concerns

Kairav Gandhi resides with his parents in the Circuit House area of Bistupur. According to family statements, he left home Tuesday afternoon for his workplace at a bank in Bistupur.

When he failed to return by late evening, his worried parents approached Bistupur police station. They filed an official missing person complaint, setting the investigation in motion.

Initial police investigations placed the last known location of Kairav's mobile phone in Sonari. Officers are now examining his call records from the past three months to identify recent contacts.

Kidnapping Angle Under Investigation

Police suspect criminals may have conducted thorough reconnaissance before potentially kidnapping the industrialist's son. The kidnapping angle has become a primary focus of the ongoing probe.

Forensic experts have been called to examine fingerprints found on the recovered vehicle. Meanwhile, police are screening extensive CCTV footage from all motorable roads and plaza tolls leading to Kanderbera.

City SP Kumar Shivashish confirmed to media that multiple police teams are working on the case. He stated authorities are examining every possible angle connected to the youth's disappearance.

People familiar with Kairav Gandhi describe him as a down-to-earth, soft-spoken individual with a calm demeanor. He returned to his hometown in mid-2025 after completing his MBA from Mumbai's Monjee Institute of Management Studies.

Upon returning to Jamshedpur, Kairav joined the family business. He recently received appointment as director of Empire Auto Pvt Ltd, one of several companies owned by his father.

Devan Chandra Gandhi, Kairav's father, serves as vice president of the Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA). The family's prominent industrial standing has added urgency to the police investigation.
