Security personnel at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya detained a 55-year-old man from Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening. The incident occurred after he was allegedly seen attempting to offer namaz near a restricted zone within the temple premises.

The individual was identified as Abu Ahmad Sheikh (55), a resident of Wodapora village in Shopian district. Officials stated that he had completed his darshan and was exiting the temple when the security staff noticed his actions.

Security Intervention and Detailed Investigation

The security team immediately intervened and took Sheikh into custody for questioning. The alleged attempt happened near the southern circumambulatory corridor close to Sita Rasoi, an area designated as a prohibited zone.

Following his detention, intelligence agencies launched a thorough probe. Officials interrogated the man and conducted extensive verification of his background. A detailed report was sought from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and verification was also done by the CRPF.

Man Released After No Adverse Findings

After several hours of questioning and verification, the agencies cleared Abu Ahmad Sheikh. Investigators confirmed that no suspicious object was found in his possession.

Furthermore, the probe revealed no criminal record or adverse antecedents. Officials added that no terror links or organisational affiliations emerged during the investigation. Consequently, the man was let off.

The incident highlights the high-alert security protocols in place at the sensitive religious site. Authorities continue to maintain strict vigilance to prevent any untoward incidents.
