Criminal History and Legal Actions

One of the arrested individuals, Subin Alexander, aged 29, has a prior criminal record and was previously jailed under the Kerala Anti-social Activities (Prevention) Act. Authorities plan to recommend to the district Collector that Alexander be sent back to jail for an additional six months under this stringent legislation.

Details of the Assault and Investigation

According to police reports, a group of six men, led by Alexander, forcibly entered the spa and demanded money from the victim. They also recorded nude videos of her during the assault. The police received information about the incident and launched a probe, registering the case after gathering evidence and statements. A special team has been assigned to investigate the matter thoroughly.

The survivor recounted the harrowing experience to TV channels, stating that the gang demanded Rs 50,000 from her. When she resisted, Alexander dragged her into a room, threatened her with a knife, and assaulted her. After the attack, he recorded nude videos and reiterated the demand for money, also seeking Rs 3 lakh from the spa owner. The gang allegedly stole Rs 2,500 from the counter before leaving and threatened the victim with severe consequences if she disclosed the incident.

Business Rivalry and Police Allegations

CCTV footage from the spa captured the gang entering the premises and threatening the woman. Superintendent Anand mentioned that police are exploring allegations that the gang was hired by the owner of a competing business due to rivalry. Statements from the spa owner have been recorded to verify these claims.

In response to local media reports suggesting that some policemen were on the payroll of spa owners in the area, Anand assured that stern departmental action had been taken against such personnel in the past. A Deputy Superintendent of Police will investigate these fresh allegations to ensure accountability and transparency.
