Labourer Killed in Parking Dispute in Ahmedabad

A 26-year-old labourer was killed following a dispute over vehicle parking at Madhavpura market in Ahmedabad on Sunday, with cross-complaints registered at Madhavpura police station.

Incident Details

The deceased has been identified as Mithilesh Mishra. His brother, Sandeep, aged 29, filed a complaint stating that the incident occurred between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM on Sunday. According to Sandeep, he was informed by co-workers that his brother was lying injured on the road. When he reached the spot, Mithilesh was found unconscious with head injuries. An emergency medical team examined him and declared him dead.

Accusations in the Complaint

The complaint names four accused: Indrajitkumar Patel, Akash Patel, Akash Raut, and Laliprasad Prasad. Sandeep alleged, "All four assaulted my brother with pipes, iron rods, a metal tool, and a belt following an argument over parking of a two-wheeler."

Counter-Complaint Filed

Meanwhile, a counter-complaint was filed by Indrajitkumar Patel, who alleged that he and his associate Akash Raut were assaulted first. In his statement, Patel said they went to retrieve a parked motorcycle when Mithilesh, along with Golu Jadav and Ravi Koli, refused to move and began abusing them. Patel claimed that Mithilesh attacked him with a wooden stick, causing an injury near his right eye that required stitches. He also alleged that Mithilesh damaged a pickup vehicle and a motorcycle, resulting in losses of around Rs 3,500.

Police Investigation

Police said both complaints had been registered, and an investigation was underway. The body of Mithilesh Mishra was sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Police have invoked sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those related to murder, assault, damage to property, and criminal conspiracy.
