Patna: A 28-year-old man was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances at Khedalpura village under Bihta police station limits in Patna district on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar, son of the late Bindeshwari Rai.
Body Found in Dilapidated House
According to police, Amit's body was found inside a dilapidated house in Shrirampur Tola. Villagers spotted the body and alerted the authorities, following which a team from Bihta police station arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
Police Investigation Underway
The police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to gather clues about the circumstances leading to the death. They are also questioning local residents and others who may have information related to the case.
“No visible injury marks were found on the body during preliminary examination. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. During investigation, it came to light that the deceased was a drug addict, and anti-social elements often gathered at the spot where the body was found. The exact circumstances of the death will become clear only after the post-mortem report is received,” said Amit Kumar, SHO of Bihta police station.
He further added that further action would be taken based on the post-mortem findings and evidence collected during the investigation. A forensic team also inspected the spot, but no incriminating material was recovered.
