Sasaram: In a tragic incident, two minor siblings drowned in a pond while bathing at Dhedua village under Chand police station area in Bhararikala panchayat of Kaimur district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Rizwan Ansari (7) and Ehsan Ansari (5), sons of Bablu Ansari, a resident of the village.
Incident Details
According to family members, the children had accompanied their father to the fields where paddy seedlings were being transplanted. While he was engaged in farming work, the brothers went to a nearby pond on the southern outskirts of the village to bathe. They are believed to have ventured into deep water and drowned.
Discovery and Rescue Efforts
The incident came to light when cattle herders grazing buffaloes nearby noticed that the children had not emerged from the pond for a long time. They raised an alarm, prompting villagers to rush to the spot. After a search operation, the bodies were recovered from the pond.
The incident left the family inconsolable, with relatives and villagers gathering in grief. On receiving information, Chand police reached the spot, initiated an investigation, and sent the bodies for post-mortem after completing legal formalities.
