A 35-year-old man was killed after being struck on the head with a stone in Sankeshwar town of Hukkeri taluk on Saturday night. The victim has been identified as Babu Shankar Bhusagol.
Suspects arrested in connection with murder
Police have taken two individuals into custody in connection with the murder. Preliminary investigations suggest that the husband of a woman who was allegedly in an illicit relationship with Bhusagol, along with his friend, committed the crime.
Previous altercation over road issue
According to police sources, there had been a prior fight between the accused and the victim over a road issue. However, the murder is suspected to have been motivated by the illicit relationship.
Police investigation underway
Police visited the crime scene and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the Sankeshwar police station. Further investigations are ongoing.
