A tragic accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura claimed the lives of a man and his son early Friday morning. The incident occurred when their speeding car collided with the rear of an Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus.
Accident Details
The crash took place around 3:30 am in the Baldev area. The car was traveling from Agra towards Noida when it rammed into a roadways bus from the Sultanpur depot that was moving ahead of it, according to police officials.
Victims Identified
Station House Officer Pushpendra Kumar identified the deceased as Parmhans Pandey (58) and his son Pushpendra alias Bittu (27). They were residents of Vikas Kunj Colony in Dibiyapur town, Auraiya district, and were heading to Delhi.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the front portion of the car was badly mangled. Pandey, who was driving, and his son died instantly.
Investigation Underway
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and the family members have been informed. The bodies will be handed over after the autopsy, Kumar added.
Preliminary investigation suggests that overspeeding and the driver possibly dozing off at the wheel may have led to the accident. Police are examining all aspects to determine the exact cause.
