In a shocking incident in Yamunanagar, a man allegedly strangled his wife to death and then wandered with his children for two days while planning to commit suicide along with them. The accused was arrested following prompt police action.

Incident Details

The incident occurred in Shadipur village under Yamunanagar Sadar police station, where the couple was living in rented accommodation. According to police, a domestic dispute between the couple took a fatal turn when the husband, identified as Santosh Kumar, allegedly killed his wife, Neelam, by strangling her with her dupatta. Police said the crime was committed on the night of May 3.

After the Murder

After the murder, the accused did not inform anyone and instead kept moving from place to place with his children for nearly two days. During this period, he was reportedly planning to commit suicide, and was also considering taking his children along. Before he could execute his plan, the police received information about the incident. Acting swiftly, a police team reached the spot and took the accused into custody.

Investigation

Yamunanagar police investigating officer Nirmal Singh stated that the police received information around 2:30 pm regarding the murder. A forensic team was called to the scene to collect evidence, and the body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. He added that the deceased woman was originally from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
