Mob Attacks Police, Frees Drug Suspect in Haryana

YAMUNANAGAR: A mob attacked police with stones and bricks in Haryana's Radaur area on Tuesday evening, freeing a drugs case suspect from custody and injuring several officers while damaging vehicles.

Police Raid and Confrontation

A Karnal special unit team led by Sub-Inspector Parveen Kumar raided Chhota Bans village to arrest Rajinder, a wanted suspect under the NDPS Act. When officers detained Rajinder near a culvert, his associates resisted.

A larger crowd of villagers joined the confrontation, attacking the police team with stones and freeing Rajinder, according to police reports.

Legal Action Taken

Radaur police have registered a fresh case against 15 named individuals and several unidentified suspects under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Charges include assaulting public servants, obstructing their duty, criminal intimidation, and damaging public property.

Rajesh Rana, SHO of Radaur, confirmed that no arrests have been made yet. The investigation is ongoing.
