MUMBAI: The Worli police in Central Mumbai have arrested an assistant commissioner of police rank officer for allegedly exposing his private parts in front of a nine-year-old girl at a garden in Worli. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
Arrest Following Complaint
A police source confirmed that the arrest was made promptly after receiving the complaint. 'The accused had flashed his private parts. The incident occurred on April 23, and we arrested the accused,' said a police officer. So far, only one complaint has been lodged against the officer.
Legal Action Taken
The accused has been booked under charges of molestation and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A thorough investigation is currently underway.
In accordance with Supreme Court directives regarding cases of sexual assault, the victim's identity has not been disclosed to protect her privacy.
