Mysuru Police's Night Drive Nets 6 Ganja Cases, Focus on Public Safety
Mysuru Police Area Drive: 6 Ganja Cases Registered

In a significant crackdown aimed at bolstering public safety, the Mysuru city police conducted an extensive area domination drive across the city on Saturday night. The operation resulted in the registration of six separate cases related to ganja possession and sale, marking a firm stance against narcotics activities.

City-Wide Operation Under Top Leadership

The strategic drive was executed under the direct guidance of City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar. The primary objective was to reinforce law and order, making the city safer for both residents and the influx of tourists. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) KS Sundar Raj outlined that the operation was comprehensive, covering all four police subdivisions: Krishnaraja, Devaraja, Vijayanagara, and Narasimharaja.

Intensive Checks and Public Outreach

Police teams left no stone unturned during the vigilance exercise. Their activities included:

  • Questioning individuals found under suspicious circumstances.
  • Conducting thorough verification of vehicle documents.
  • Inspecting lodges, bars, restaurants, and shops known to be potential hotspots.
  • Creating awareness among locals and tourists about safety and legal compliance.

DCP Sundar Raj emphasized that the teams specifically visited vulnerable, densely populated, and isolated areas to ensure a blanket of security. "We carried out vehicle inspections too during the drive," he added, highlighting the operation's meticulous nature.

A New Norm in Proactive Policing

According to the police department, such area domination drives have evolved into a regular feature of policing in Mysuru. They are conducted frequently across different parts of the city with a dual purpose: to bring the police closer to the community and to act as a strong deterrent against criminal elements. This proactive strategy is designed to preemptively bring down crime rates by maintaining a visible and vigilant police presence.

The successful drive, culminating in multiple narcotics cases, underscores the police's commitment to tackling crime at the grassroots level and ensuring Mysuru remains a secure and orderly city for all.
