In a significant theft case in Nagpur, a young employee has been accused of stealing readymade women's garments valued at a staggering Rs 18 lakh from his employer's warehouse. The Nandanvan Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
CCTV Footage Exposes Repeated Thefts
The incident came to light after the business owner, Sheikh Hanif Sheikh Hussain Julha (48), grew suspicious about a consistent shortfall in his stock. Julha, who operates a women's readymade garments business in Hasanbagh, decided to scrutinize the CCTV footage from his godown. The recordings allegedly provided concrete evidence, showing his 19-year-old employee, Sheikh Aman Sheikh Haider, repeatedly stealing bundles of garments over an extended period.
Details of the Complaint and Accused
The accused, Sheikh Aman, is a resident of the same locality as his employer, highlighting a breach of trust from within the community. Following the discovery through the surveillance system, a formal complaint was lodged at the Nandanvan police station. The police have acted promptly, registering a case under the relevant sections for theft, specifically citing Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The investigation is currently being led by PSI Rakhunde and is actively underway. Authorities are working to determine the full extent of the thefts and recover the stolen property. This case underscores the critical role of security measures like CCTV in modern business operations and the severe legal repercussions for such crimes under the new legal framework.
The incident serves as a cautionary tale for business owners regarding internal security and inventory management, especially when employing individuals with direct access to valuable goods.
