In a significant development following recent actions against a notorious gang, the Pachpaoli police in Nagpur have arrested a woman for allegedly storing an arsenal of weapons intended for criminal use.
Police Raid Uncovers Hidden Arsenal
Acting on specific intelligence, a police team from Pachpaoli police station conducted a search operation at a residence located in Panchkuva Maidan, near Kali Mata Mandir. The raid was carried out on Tuesday between 2:00 PM and 2:50 PM.
The target was the home of 34-year-old Rama Sikkalwar. During the search, officers recovered a cache of weapons. The seized items included an iron sword, three iron picks, and two steel serrated knives. The police have estimated the total value of these weapons to be approximately Rs 3,500.

During interrogation, the arrested woman made a startling claim to the police. She stated that the weapons were supplied to her by Rahul Masurkar, a known member of Central Nagpur's Ippa gang, and his associates identified as Irshad and Naushad.
This arrest comes in the wake of recent action by the crime branch against Rahul Masurkar himself, indicating a continued crackdown on the gang's network and its support structure.
Legal Action and Charges Filed
The police have registered a formal case against Rama Sikkalwar under stringent sections of the law. The charges include:
- Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act for illegal possession of arms and ammunition.
- Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act for illegal possession with the intent to commit cognizable offences.
These sections are applied in cases involving the illegal possession of weapons with the potential to disrupt public order and safety. The arrest underscores the police's focus on dismantling the supply chains that fuel gang-related violence and crime in the region.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are probing deeper into the network to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the weapon supply chain connected to the Ippa gang.
