Newborn Girl’s Body Found in Hyderabad Colony

Hyderabad: Residents of a housing colony in Jadcherla, Mahabubnagar district, were left stunned on Friday morning after discovering the body of a newborn girl that had likely been attacked by stray dogs.

Discovery of the Body

Police officers who arrived at the scene stated that the newborn was likely abandoned by her parents and had been dead for at least a couple of days. The body was found in bushes along a roadside on one of the colony's internal roads. Children playing cricket nearby spotted the body while searching for their ball and alerted others, who then called the police.

Police Investigation

B Kamalakar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Jadcherla town police station, said, "We suspect that the newborn was abandoned at a hillock nearby and the dogs later dragged the body into the colony. Our initial investigation suggests that the child was dead by the time the dogs got there. We don't believe that the dogs killed her." He added, "The newborn had no deformity and the body parts were intact. However, there were dog-bite marks all over."
