Noida Police Intensify Surveillance After Woman's Body Found in Dumping Yard
Noida: Body found in bag at dumping yard, police probe on

Police in Noida have ramped up surveillance and launched a major investigation after the body of a young woman was discovered inside a bag at a garbage dumping yard in Sector 145 last Saturday evening. The gruesome find has prompted authorities to intensify checks on vehicles, particularly garbage trucks, entering the city from Delhi borders.

Victim Unidentified, Probe Intensifies

The victim, believed to be aged between 22 and 25 years, remains unidentified. A senior police officer indicated that she might be from West Bengal or Bihar. In a bid to crack the case, authorities have formed six special teams dedicated to identifying the woman and tracking down those responsible for her death.

The investigation is progressing on multiple fronts. Officers are meticulously scanning hours of CCTV footage from key areas, including:

  • The Hari Darshan area on the Delhi-Noida border
  • The Jhundpura border crossing
  • Kalindi Kunj and the DND Flyway border

Simultaneously, police are cross-referencing missing-person reports from all 26 police stations in Gautam Budh Nagar district, hoping to find a match.

Secluded Crime Scene and Suspicious Vehicles

The dumping yard where the body was found is a secluded spot, situated amid fields near the Hindon River and over a kilometre from the DND Flyway. It has only one entry gate. This isolation leads investigators to suspect the location was chosen deliberately, either because the body was transported in a garbage truck or to avoid detection.

As part of the probe, police have flagged several garbage trucks for closer scrutiny and are tracing them using their registration numbers. Data on all vehicles that transported waste to and from the yard is being analysed, although no definitive leads have surfaced yet.

Brutal Murder Points to Possible Motives

The condition of the body suggests a particularly brutal crime. The woman's hands and feet were bound with 4–5 inch wide white strips, commonly used in freight or industrial packaging. Her face appeared to be burnt, potentially with acid, and her neck had deep cuts. Police estimate the body was at least three days old when discovered.

Based on initial circumstantial evidence, investigators are exploring several angles. The primary suspicions currently point towards an honour-related crime or a murder stemming from a failed relationship. The industrial-grade bag used to conceal the body and the type of strips used for binding have also led police to theorize that the accused might have links to a factory or an industrial unit in the region.

The police have assured that the investigation is ongoing and all possible avenues are being examined to bring the perpetrators to justice.
