The Delhi Police uncovered an immoral trafficking racket operating under the guise of a spa in central Delhi’s Paharganj, leading to the rescue of four women and the arrest of the establishment’s owner-cum-manager, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Raid at Paharganj Spa
The accused, identified as Ajay Malhotra (39), was taken into custody following a raid conducted on Panchkuian Road in Paharganj. The operation was initiated after police received a tip-off about illicit activities being carried out at the spa.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Rohit Rajbir stated that the information indicated immoral trafficking was being conducted under the facade of a legitimate spa. Acting on the intelligence, a raid was planned to verify the allegations and take legal action against those involved.
Decoy Operation Exposes Illegal Services
The DCP explained that a decoy customer was briefed and provided with marked currency notes totaling Rs 2,000. Upon entering the spa, the decoy was allegedly offered sexual services by the operator, who accepted the advance payment and directed one of the women present to accompany him to a room.
After receiving a pre-arranged signal, the raiding team swiftly entered the premises and conducted a search. The accused was apprehended on the spot, and material related to the alleged illegal activities was recovered, the officer added.
Interrogation and Investigation
During interrogation, it was established that the accused was managing the spa and facilitating prostitution by providing sexual services to customers in exchange for money. The police are continuing their investigation to identify any other individuals linked to the racket.
The rescued women were provided with necessary support, and further legal proceedings are underway. The case highlights ongoing efforts by Delhi Police to combat human trafficking and illegal operations disguised as legitimate businesses.
