Panchkula Police Arrest Three More in Kidnapping Case

Panchkula police have made significant progress in a disturbing kidnapping case. They arrested three more accused individuals today. This action brings the total number of arrests to four. One suspect remains on the run. Police are actively searching for him.

Details of the Crime

The case began on December 3rd. A resident of Ludhiana filed a complaint at the Mansa Devi police station. He reported his brother-in-law Sandeep missing since December 2nd. Sandeep lived in the Mansa Devi area and worked in Sector 9. Police launched an immediate search operation.

Investigations revealed a troubling sequence of events. The accused befriended Sandeep through an online application. They then allegedly kidnapped him from the Mansa Devi area. They used a Scorpio vehicle for the crime.

Assault and Financial Loss

Police stated the victim faced physical assault. The perpetrators robbed him of Rs 1.25 lakh in cash. They also took a gold ring and a silver ring. During verification, suspicious transactions from Sandeep's bank accounts emerged.

Recovery and Legal Action

The accused took Sandeep to Haridwar. Haridwar police traced and recovered him on December 4th. They promptly informed Panchkula police. A team led by station in-charge inspector Munish Kumar and investigating officer SI Sukhvinder Singh brought Sandeep back. They conducted a medical examination first.

Authorities registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Scrutiny of bank accounts and technical evidence identified several suspects. The names included Ankit, Ajay, Dipesh alias Deepu, Ashish alias Golu, and Anil.

Arrest Timeline

Police acted on specific inputs. They arrested Ravi, a resident of Charkhi Dadri, on January 9th. The court sent him to judicial custody.

On January 15th, police brought three more individuals to Panchkula. Ajay, Dipesh, and Ashish, all from Charkhi Dadri, were already in jail for another kidnapping case. They arrived on production warrants. Anil was also produced for questioning.

During interrogation, police found no evidence linking Anil to this case. They handed him over to Gurgaon police for a separate matter. The remaining three faced formal arrest after evidence confirmed their involvement.

Current Status and Recovery

DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta provided updates on the investigation. Police have recovered the Scorpio vehicle used in the crime. One accused person is still absconding. Officers are making concerted efforts to apprehend him.

Recovery of the remaining stolen cash and other items is expected after his arrest. The investigation continues as police work to ensure all perpetrators face justice.
