Patna Theft: Rs 10 Lakh Jewellery Stolen from Saristabad House
Patna house burgled, Rs 10 lakh jewellery stolen

In a brazen daylight robbery, thieves targeted a house in Patna's Saristabad area, making off with valuables worth a significant sum. The incident, which occurred under the jurisdiction of the Gardanibagh police station, has left the residents shocked and the authorities scrambling for clues.

Details of the Saristabad Burglary

The theft took place on Sunday at the Azad Path More residence of Suresh Yadav. The burglars capitalized on a moment when the house was vulnerable. Suresh Yadav had left for work, and his son had gone to a private hospital where his wife is currently admitted. This left the property unattended, providing an ideal opportunity for the criminals to strike.

The miscreants did not just take petty cash; they fled with a haul of gold and silver jewellery valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh. Additionally, they took Rs 20,000 in cash, bringing the total estimated loss to around Rs 10.2 lakh. The method of entry involved breaking open a cupboard where the valuables were stored.

How the Theft Was Discovered

The burglary was uncovered by the family's housemaid. Upon arriving or during her duties, she made a startling observation: the main door of the house was found open. Her alertness increased when she reportedly saw two men leaving the premises. Sensing something amiss, she investigated further and discovered the broken cupboard, immediately raising the alarm.

Police Investigation Underway

Local law enforcement from the Gardanibagh police station swiftly registered a case and have initiated a thorough investigation. A key element of their probe is the examination of CCTV footage from the vicinity. Authorities are scrutinizing the recordings to identify the two men seen by the housemaid and trace their movements before and after the crime.

This incident has highlighted concerns about residential security in the area, especially during daytime hours when families may be out for work or other commitments. The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and ensure proper locking mechanisms and security measures are in place.
