The Sangvi police on Tuesday registered a case against a family of three for allegedly thrashing a 53-year-old woman following a parking dispute in Pune's Pimple Gurav area. The complainant sustained a fracture to her right thumb during the incident.

Details of the Incident

According to a police officer, the complainant and the accused reside in neighboring buildings. A heated argument erupted over parking vehicles in the lane. The trio, comprising a man, his wife, and their son, allegedly abused the woman and her nephew. One of them twisted the woman's hand, causing her thumb to fracture.

Legal Action Taken

A case under Section 117 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered against the family members. The police have issued a notice to the trio, and an investigation is underway.

The woman later approached the police and lodged a complaint. The officer added that further legal proceedings will follow as per the investigation.
