Six Persons Booked for Assault in Mehatpur

The Mehatpur police have registered a case against six individuals, including a woman, for allegedly assaulting a villager with sharp-edged weapons. The accused have been identified as Mandeep Singh of Dashmesh Nagar, Mehatpur, and his wife Nisha, along with four others. The complaint was filed by Gurdev Singh, a resident of Pasharrian village, who stated that the accused waylaid him and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, causing serious injuries and also threatening him. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Woman Among Six Arrested for Drug Peddling

In a separate operation, the Shahkot police arrested a woman for selling heroin. Investigating officer Varun Patiyal confirmed that 25.54 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused, Charanjit Kaur, a resident of Kotli Gajran village. Additionally, the Lohian Khas police arrested drug peddler Lovpreet Singh of Yusafpur Darewal village with 7.25 grams of heroin and Rs 500 in drug money. The Nakodar police also arrested Honey Sharma and Davindar Pal Singh with 57 intoxicating tablets, while Inderjit Singh and his brother Davindar Singh were caught with 43 intoxicating tablets.

Youth Booked for Kidnapping Minor Girl

The Shahkot police have booked a youth from Fazilka for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Anmol of Chak Ram Wala village, Fazilka. The father of the victim, a resident of Malsian village, filed a complaint stating that the accused kidnapped his minor daughter. A case has been registered against the accused, and investigations are underway.

Man Electrocuted While Repairing Transformer in Lohian Khas

A tragic incident occurred in Lohian Khas where a resident was electrocuted while repairing a transformer. The deceased has been identified as Sukhwindar Singh of Padda colony, Lohian Khas. His brother, Kashmir Singh, informed the police that Sukhwindar Singh was repairing a transformer when he was electrocuted and died on the spot. The police handed over the body to the family after a post-mortem examination.

Three Unidentified Persons Booked for Snatching Cash and Mobile

The Nakodar police have booked three unidentified miscreants for allegedly snatching cash and a mobile phone from a migrant worker. The complainant, Pawan Kumar of Bihar, who is currently living in a village near Nakodar, reported that three unidentified persons on a motorcycle waylaid him and snatched Rs 1,000 and a mobile phone. A case has been registered, and the police are investigating the matter.
