Gurgaon Police Arrests Third Accused in Kidnapping Case
Gurgaon police made a significant arrest in a kidnapping case that shocked the city. They captured the third and key accused involved in the abduction of two youths and a ransom demand of Rs 5 lakh. Police officials described the crime as a well-planned conspiracy aimed at recovering money from one of the victims.
Details of the Kidnapping Incident
The case traces back to December 6, 2025. Two friends, Rahul and Krishna, both aged 21, were kidnapped from Greater Noida. The accused, identified as Mayank, is 19 years old. He completed his class XII education and lives in Uttam Vihar, Rohtak district. Police investigation revealed that Mayank had previously given Rs 2 lakh to Rahul. To get this money back, he allegedly plotted with his accomplices, Danish and Riyan, both 22 years old, to kidnap Rahul. Authorities arrested Danish and Riyan earlier from Manesar.
How the Victims Managed to Call for Help
During the kidnapping, Rahul managed to use his mobile phone to call his sister. He informed her that he and Krishna had been abducted. Initially, he asked his family to arrange Rs 1 lakh and come to a hotel in the Kherki Daula area of Gurgaon to secure their release. However, the situation quickly escalated. Rahul called again soon after, warning that the kidnappers were dangerous. They had increased the ransom amount to Rs 5 lakh. He also cautioned his family against informing the police.
The family then received a direct call from Mayank. He threatened that the duo would be killed if the money was not paid. Fearing for their lives, the family rushed to the spot. Unfortunately, Rahul's phone was found switched off, adding to their anxiety.
The Escape and Police Action
The following day, Rahul contacted his family again. He reported that he and Krishna had managed to escape. They were standing near the Rampura flyover. When the family reached the location, the two youths disclosed crucial details. Mayank had dropped them off with Danish and Riyan, who then kidnapped them and demanded the ransom.
Based on this information, police registered a case at the Kherki Daula police station under relevant sections. An officer explained the plan. Mayank took Rahul and Krishna to Greater Noida on December 6. There, his accomplices kidnapped the duo and later brought them to Gurgaon. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from their families.
Police are continuing their investigation into the matter. They aim to uncover all aspects of this conspiracy and ensure justice is served.
