A senior US official confirmed that former President Donald Trump will host Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado on Thursday. This meeting signals continued US engagement with Venezuela's political opposition amid ongoing tensions in the region.

Multiple Arrests at India-Nepal Border in Uttar Pradesh

Security forces made significant arrests at the India-Nepal border in Bahraich district. The Sashastra Seema Bal detained five individuals, including a man pretending to be an IAS officer.

Nanpara Circle Officer Pahup Kumar Singh provided details about the Sunday evening incident. SSB personnel stopped an Innova Crysta with Uttar Pradesh registration during routine checks at the Rupaideha border crossing. The vehicle featured a red-blue beacon and hooter, raising immediate suspicion.

Authorities arrested all occupants as they attempted to enter Nepal with the improperly equipped vehicle.

Major Drug Bust Near Border Nets 18 Kg Charas

In a separate operation near the India-Nepal border, security forces seized a substantial quantity of narcotics. A joint team of SSB and Uttar Pradesh Police arrested one man and confiscated 18 kilograms of charas.

Additional Superintendent of Police Siddharth identified the accused as Hemant Singh from Ghazipur district. Officers stopped his Swift car during routine checks as he entered India from Nepal through the Nautanwa area in Maharajganj district.

A thorough search revealed 38 packets containing charas hidden in the vehicle with registration number DL 3CC J 0602. Officials estimated the drug's value at approximately Rs 9 crore in international markets.

Greenland Seeks NATO Protection Amid Trump's Territorial Interest

Greenland's government announced plans to strengthen cooperation with NATO for enhanced defense of the Danish autonomous territory. This move directly responds to repeated expressions of interest from President Trump about acquiring the island.
