Chennai: Police arrested two men in Ramapuram for possessing and selling narcotic pills and seized 1,380 tablets, two mobile phones and Rs 1.47 lakh in cash during a surveillance operation in Thirumalai Nagar near Ramapuram.

Operation Details

Acting on information about the sale of narcotic substances in the area, police conducted monitoring operations and intercepted two youths who were behaving suspiciously. During questioning, officers found that the duo had pain-relief tablets, which they were selling as narcotic pills.

Accused Identified

The accused were identified as Suresh, 23, from Maduravoyal, and Sriram, 19, from Ramapuram. A search led to the seizure of 1,380 pills, two mobile phones used for communication and Rs 1.47 lakh, which were part of the proceeds from the illegal sale.

Legal Proceedings

The suspects were produced before a magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody.
