COIMBATORE: The Karumbukadai police in the city on Thursday arrested two youths on charges of possessing painkiller tablets. The arrested individuals have been identified as A Santhosh, 19, of Muthugounden Pudur near Sulur, and M Chandan Kumar, 26, of Madukkarai Market.
Police Action Based on Tip-Off
Acting on a tip-off about the sale of drug pills, the Karumbukadai police rushed to Puttu Vikki Road and conducted a search. They found two youths standing near the Jalakandeswarar temple. Upon questioning, the police discovered that the duo were in possession of painkiller tablets. A total of 1,448 tablets were seized from them, and they were taken to the police station for further investigation.
Origin of the Tablets
Investigations revealed that the duo had traveled to Rajasthan and procured the tablets. They were planning to sell these tablets to people, including students. The police have registered a case against the duo, and they were subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
