Two cousins stabbed in Ludhiana robbery, shifted to PGIMER

Two cousins sustained serious stab wounds after four unidentified youths attacked them during a robbery attempt in Ludhiana's Rishi Nagar area late Monday night. The assailants also snatched a silver chain before fleeing on two motorcycles.

Victims and Immediate Response

The injured have been identified as Pawan (20) and Nilesh (21), residents of New Surya Vihar on Panj Peer Road. They were first taken to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), but as their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to Civil Hospital and later referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh, for specialized treatment.

Sequence of Events

According to police, Nilesh was returning from work when his cousin Pawan arrived on a motorcycle to pick him up. They parked near the Y-Block market in Rishi Nagar and were walking towards the market when four youths on two motorcycles intercepted them. The suspects attempted to snatch their mobile phones. When the cousins resisted, the attackers allegedly pulled out knives and repeatedly stabbed both. During the assault, they also snatched a silver chain from Pawan before escaping.

Police Investigation

Despite serious injuries, Pawan managed to call his family, who rushed to the spot and took both victims to the hospital. The police are examining CCTV footage from the market area to identify the accused and trace their escape route. A case is being registered, and further investigation is underway.
