The collision occurred late Monday night near New Khajuria Dhaba at Peerah when a truck traveling from Jammu toward Srinagar rammed into a tractor.

Police officials stated that an unidentified man died on the spot. Three other individuals sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to the district hospital in Ramban. Among the injured, Subhash, a resident of Rajasthan, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, bringing the death toll to two.

The identity of the second deceased person has not yet been established, and investigations are ongoing to identify the victim.

Rescue and Traffic Restoration

Chanderkote Station House Officer (SHO) Jatinder Rakwal confirmed that a police team promptly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. The damaged vehicles were removed from the highway to restore normal traffic flow on this critical route.
