A horrific road accident in Ujjain on Sunday afternoon has left a family shattered, claiming the life of a young man and critically injuring his wife and two children. The tragedy unfolded when a speeding dumper rammed into their motorcycle on the busy Dewas Road.

The fatal collision occurred near Nakoda Dham Colony, within the jurisdiction of the Nagjhiri police station. According to Nagjhiri police station in-charge Kamal Nigwal, the family was returning home when the dumper, coming from the opposite direction, hit their two-wheeler head-on. The impact of the crash was severe, throwing the victims off the motorcycle.

Showing utter disregard for human life, the dumper driver did not stop to help. The driver fled the spot immediately after causing the accident, leaving the injured family members on the road. Prompt action by locals and the police ensured that the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Victims and Aftermath

Despite all efforts, 30-year-old Arjun Awaliya, a resident of Lalpur, was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. His wife, 27-year-old Mamta, sustained grave injuries and her condition was deemed critical. She was later shifted to a private hospital for advanced treatment.

The couple's two young children also suffered serious injuries in the crash. Eight-year-old Mahi and four-year-old Rishabh are currently undergoing treatment at Charak Hospital. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the perennial danger posed by reckless driving on city roads.
