A 26-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly beaten to death in the Rai area of Sonepat district, Haryana, over suspicions of an illicit relationship. The deceased was identified as Vishal, a resident of Meerut district. He had been working at a factory in the Rai industrial area and was living in a rented accommodation in Jatheri village.
Father Alleges Threat and Murder
Vishal’s father, Shiv Kumar, told the police that a man named Omvir, along with his family, was also living in the same rented premises. Omvir suspected Vishal of having an illicit relationship with his wife. According to Shiv Kumar, Omvir had previously called Vishal to persuade him to end the relationship and threatened to kill his son if he failed to comply.
Shiv Kumar further alleged that on Saturday night, he received a phone call from Omvir’s son, Anuj, also known as Tanuj. During the call, he could hear his son screaming, while voices of two or three people in the background claimed that Vishal had been killed and instructed him to come and take the body away. Shiv Kumar reached Rai late that night and found Vishal dead.
Suspects Report the Murder
According to police sources, Omvir himself arrived at the Rai police station and informed the authorities that his son, Tanuj, had allegedly murdered Vishal by beating him to death and that the body was lying in the fields. Acting on this information, a police team went to the spot and found Vishal’s body lying in a pool of blood in the fields near Max Height Metro View on the Jatheri-Rathdhana Road.
A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team was called to the scene and collected evidence. The body was then sent to the mortuary at the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Case Registered, Investigation Underway
Inspector Yashbir, Station House Officer (SHO) of Rai police station, confirmed that a case has been registered against Tanuj and his friends for the murder of Vishal. As of the latest reports, no accused has been arrested in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
