Location and Structure of the New Cell
The newly established unit is called the Middle Eastern Air Defense – Combined Defense Operations Cell, or MEAD-CDOC for short. It is situated at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a critical military installation in the region. Specifically, the cell operates within the Combined Air Operations Center, known as the CAOC.
This coordination hub brings together personnel from the United States military and various regional partner nations. By pooling resources and expertise, the cell is designed to improve joint defense operations and response times against potential threats.
