A 72-year-old woman returned to her home in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, after spending nearly two months in Mumbai for her husband's cancer treatment, only to find that her house had been burgled.

Incident Details

According to the complaint filed with Vastrapur police, the woman, a retiree, had been living at her daughter's residence in Mumbai for approximately 55 days while her husband underwent treatment for esophageal cancer. When she returned to her home in Ashray Apartments near the HP petrol pump on Wednesday, she noticed signs of a break-in and discovered that valuables had been stolen.

Police Investigation

Police officials stated that the residence had remained locked for almost two months, making it difficult to determine the exact time of the burglary. Inspector G M Chaudhary of Vastrapur police confirmed that a case of burglary has been registered and an investigation is underway. Police teams have begun collecting and analyzing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify suspects and establish the sequence of events.
